Privacy policy
Last updated 5 November 2026
This policy covers Teardown.shop. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. This page explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
- The store addresses you check with the quick score, and the results.
- When you request a teardown: your email address, your store's address, and anything you tell us about the store.
- For paid teardowns, billing details handled by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Emails you send us.
- Basic, cookie-free website analytics (pages viewed, referring site, country). This doesn't identify you.
How we use it
To run the checks and write your report, to send it to you, to ask for feedback on it, and to improve the service. We don't sell your information or share it for anyone else's marketing.
Who we share it with
Only the services that run Teardown.shop on our behalf: Vercel (hosting), Prisma (database), GitHub (where reports are prepared), Google PageSpeed Insights (speed tests on your store's public address), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payments) and Plausible (analytics). Some of these store data outside Australia, including in the United States and Singapore. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Quick-score results are kept so their share links keep working. Teardown requests and reports are kept for 24 months, then deleted.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, including your report, by emailing hello@teardown.shop. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we handle a request, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
